From the start, as a group, we decided on a cannibalistic storyline for the comic book of the nursery rhyme "Pat-a-cake, Pat-a-cake" and we each played around with the idea in different forms. Before I started I collaged comic book imagery to familiarise myself with the style and format. My idea consisted of a wolf character, as the speaker, with a wolf baby, to fit with the storyline of the rhyme,  who goes to a shop (that sells human filled cakes) disguised as a bakery. I started off sketching out character designs and then also explored other ideas through rough thumbnail sketches to play around with the composition and layout of the comic.

We then came together as a group and decided on a storyline, we decided on a plague doctor- masked character as the baker who bakes children into cakes for zombie-like creatures who had been badly affected by the plague. We also decided on a black and white colour scheme except for one colour which was a flesh-like pink colour.

I had the responsibility of designing the two decorative pages for the inside covers. I selected a pattern design consisting of the different ingredients of a normal cake but including human parts such as hands and eyeballs. I used Adobe illustrator for all my digital work, I had some experience with the software but not a lot of knowlege on how to draw properly but I used a few YouTube videos and did my best.
